Properties

Grades

Fine-grain grades are used for finishing and precision applications. Medium-grain grades balance wear resistance and toughness. Coarse-grain grades handle heavy impact and high-pressure operations. Nickel-bonded grades are available for corrosion resistance.

Manufacturing

Hardmetal is produced by milling tungsten carbide powder with binder metal, pressing into shapes, and sintering in vacuum furnaces above 1400 degrees Celsius. The material is then ground to final dimensions as required.
