What Is a Tungsten Carbide Ring?

A tungsten carbide ring is a cylindrical cemented carbide component with a central bore, used for sealing applications, wire drawing, extrusion, wear surfaces, and mechanical seals. Renyuan Mould supplies precision carbide rings in various sizes and grades.

Properties

Tungsten carbide rings provide hardness from 86 to 92 HRA, high compressive strength, and excellent corrosion and wear resistance. They maintain tight tolerances and polished surfaces over long service life, even under high pressure and sliding contact.

Types and Applications

We produce seal rings, wire drawing rings, extrusion rings, wear rings, bearing rings, and custom cylindrical sleeves. These rings are used in mechanical seals, pump seals, valve seats, wire drawing machines, and oil and gas equipment.

Ring bores and outer diameters can be ground and lapped to precise dimensions.

Available Grades

Fine-grain grades are used for seal faces requiring mirror-finish surfaces. Medium-grain grades suit general wear and drawing applications. Nickel-bonded grades are available for corrosive environments.

Manufacturing Process

Carbide rings are produced by isostatic or die pressing, vacuum sintering, and precision grinding. Both inner and outer surfaces can be lapped or polished to achieve the required surface finish and dimensional accuracy.

Tolerances and Surface Finish

Inner diameter and outer diameter tolerances of plus or minus 0.005 millimeters are achievable. Seal faces can be lapped to Ra 0.02 or better, ensuring excellent sealing performance and low leakage.

Custom Rings

Quality and Delivery
