PRODUCTDETAILS
YG20 Tungsten Carbide Mold
What Is YG20 Tungsten Carbide?
YG20 is a standard Chinese cemented carbide grade containing approximately 20% cobalt and 80% tungsten carbide. Renyuan Mould manufactures YG20 tungsten carbide molds for applications requiring high toughness and impact resistance.
The high cobalt content gives YG20 excellent resistance to shock and impact, making it ideal for heavy stamping and forging dies.
YG20 Properties
YG20 offers hardness around 85 to 87 HRA, high transverse rupture strength, and good compressive strength. While not the hardest carbide grade, its toughness makes it suitable for operations involving heavy impact and shock loading.
Applications
YG20 carbide molds are used for cold heading dies, hot forging dies, stamping dies for thick sheet metal, and drawing dies. They are preferred where impact resistance is more critical than extreme wear resistance.
YG20 vs Other Grades
Compared to lower cobalt grades like YG6 or YG8, YG20 is softer but much tougher. It resists chipping and fracture under heavy impact. For fine blanking or thin sheet applications, harder grades are more appropriate.
Custom Mold Manufacturing
Renyuan Mould produces YG20 carbide molds according to customer drawings or samples. We assist with grade selection based on your specific stamping, forging, or forming application.
Quality and Delivery
Every YG20 mold is inspected for hardness, dimensions, surface finish, and visual defects. Material certifications are available. Delivery is two to four weeks worldwide.
